Street lines...

Some years ago, I did a small project that I called “street lines,” pictures of the markings on the street to indicate the location of pipes or whatever. Here’s a link to the portfolio on my website. So this morning as I was returning from my walk in the Arboretum, I found my street corner decorated thusly.

You can see that these markings have become more colorful in the years since my original project. And they also seem more expressive, as though they are narratives that more than just the proper work-person could understand. It might as well be Latin for all the meaning I can find. I mean - 1.5% of what??

Still, it’s fun to be greeted with this surprise, colorful and full of meaning for someone (I hope). Made the end of a two-mile walk a bit more smiley!
