Into the Known...

Perhaps I’m overly dramatic, but this image has a feel of setting out into the unknown, the wilderness. Still, because I know that I took this along the Neposet River in Milton, it’s more of a journey into the known. It’s a beautiful area so close in to the City.

I’m always looking for natural places close to home. It’s partly that I’d rather not travel. But it’s also that what appeals to me is the connection between the human-made world and the natural world, the ways in which they interact with each other.

So these aren’t intrepid explorers looking out over unfamiliar waters. Just out of range in this picture is the Milton Yacht Club and the traffic in Lower Mills. So you can be an explorer in your own backyard!
