TREES - SKIN DEEP

I came to this body of work with more questions than answers. It began several years ago, when I took some close-up shots of tree bark. I processed this early batch of images and I loved what I found. There were surprising colors, shapes, and textures that were often faint but could be highlighted and accentuated and built into striking and beautiful images - abstractions of skin-deep colors and textures and shapes in bark. Through the post-processing of digital images, I have aimed to capture a close-in look at the unique characteristics of each tree.
